- William and Boulding Garrett went to Missouri with the other members of the family, but not liking, they returned to North Carolina, the former lived and died near Ridgeway, VA. He was an active prosperous citizen, highly esteemed by all. His son Allen, at the present time is State Senator from Henry County, VA. Boulding Garrett lived and died about two miles south of Madison, NC, his grandchildren establishing a splendid school at Intelligence, near his home, that greatly benefited the community until the destruction of the school building by fire.
