Notes |
- Aloysius enlisted in the army on March 4, 1918. He was discharged as private first class on July 24, 1919. Private 1st class Med. Dept is inscribed on his tombstone. He was gassed during World War I, and served in the medical department during the war, possibly as a cook.
He had a near-death experience in the hospital at Jefferson City, Mo. They were able to revived him, but he told them he wished that they hadn't as he had been in the most beautiful place.
He can be recognized quite easily in some of the pictures because his ears stood out. [1]
